Privacy Policy
The short version
AOB Assist collects nothing. Every piece of information you enter or capture in the app (patient names, dates of birth, Medicare card numbers, appointment lists, signatures and generated agreement PDFs) is processed and stored only on your device. The app contains no networking code: it cannot transmit data to us or anyone else. We operate no servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking, in the app or on this website.
What the app stores, and where
- Patient details you import or enter, generated agreement PDFs, your practitioner details and settings are stored in the app's private storage on your iPhone/iPad, protected with iOS data protection (encrypted at rest when the device is locked with a passcode).
- If you choose an auto-save folder or use the export features, copies of agreement PDFs (or a day's zip) are written to the location you select (e.g. a folder in the Files app or iCloud Drive). Those copies are under your control and governed by that storage provider.
- Device backups (iCloud/computer) may include the app's data, under Apple's backup encryption and your backup settings.
What we never do
- No collection, transmission, sale or sharing of any personal or health information.
- No analytics, crash reporting, advertising identifiers or tracking of any kind.
- No third-party SDKs.
Camera, photos and Face ID
The camera/photo library are used only to read your appointment list on-device with Apple's Vision text recognition; images are not stored by the app or sent anywhere. Face ID/passcode (if you enable the app lock) is handled entirely by iOS. The app never sees biometric data.
Links and payments
"View on MBS Online" opens the official MBS website in your browser with only the item number in the address, never patient data. Subscriptions (if offered) are processed by Apple; we do not receive your payment details.
Your responsibilities as a practice
You (not us) are the custodian of the patient information handled with the app. Australian privacy law (including the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles) applies to your practice's records; retain, secure and dispose of agreements per your obligations. The app's on-device design is a tool to help, not a substitute for your compliance program. Keep a copy of agreements outside a single device (e.g. your chosen export folder) so a lost phone is not lost records.
Data deletion
Delete data any time in the app (per-agreement or per-patient) or by deleting the app, which removes its on-device storage. Copies you exported to your own folders/backups are yours to manage.
